The Arunachal Pradesh District Planning Committee Act, 2011

(Act No. 5 ot 2011)

    An Act to provide for the constitution of District Planning Committee at the district level, to consolidate the plan prepared by the Panchayats and the Municipalities in the District and to prepare five year prospective plan / draft development plan for the District as a whole.

    BE it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State ofArunachal Pradesh in the Srxty-second Yearofthe Republic of lndia as follows :-

CHAPTER-I

1. short title, Extent & Cornmencement:-(1) This Act may be called the Arunachal Pradesh District Planning Committees (ConStitution, Powers and Functions) Act, 2011 .

(2) lt shall extend to the whole of the State of Arunachal Pradesh or part thereof as may be notified by the State Govemment.

(3) It shall come into force on on such date as the State Govemment may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

2. Definitions:- (1) ln thisAct, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context otherwrse requires,-

(a) "Committee" means the District Planning Committee - constituted under section 3 ;

(b) "Govemment" means the Govemment ofArunachal Pradesh ;

(c) "member" means member of the Committee and includes the Chairperson thereof ;

(d) ''Municipality" means a Nagar Panchayat or a Municipal Council or a Municipal Corporation constituted under the Arunachal Pradesh Municipal Act, 2007 (Act No. 4 of 2008) ;

(e) "Panchayat" means a Gram Sabha, Gram Panchayat, Anchal Samity and Zilla Parishad constituted under the Arunachal Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1997 (Act No. 5 of 2001) ;

(f) "Prescribed" means as presbribed by rules ;

(g)"rules" means rules made bythe Govemment under this Act ,

(h) "Zilla Parishad" means a Zilla Parishad,constfuEd under the Arunachal Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1997 (Act No. 5 of 2001).
