THE JAMMU AND KASHMIR REGISTRATION OF DEEDS (VALIDATION) ACT, 1956

(Act No. XXI of 1956)

An Act to validate the registration and authentication of certain documents and acts connected therewith.

Be it enacted by the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature in the Seventh-Year of the Republic of India as follows :–

1. Short title.– This Act may be called the Jammu and Kashmir Registration of Deeds (Validation) Act, 1956.

2. Validation of registration and authentication of certain documents and acts connected therewith. - Every registration and authentication of documents made by Munsiff, Ramban acting or purporting to act under the Jammu and Kashmir Registration Act, 1977, within his territorial jurisdiction as such Munsiff, at any time during the period from the 22nd day of April, 1955, to the 9th day of June, 1955, and every act done in connection with such registration and authentication during the said period shall be deemed to be, and always have been, as valid as if the said Munsiff had been duly invested with powers of Sub-Registrar during the said period, and accordingly no registration or authentication so made, and no act done by the said Munsiff under the said Act in connection with any such registration or authentication during the said period shall be called in question merely on the ground that the said Munsiff was not duly invested with the powers of Sub-Registrar at the time the registration or authentication was made or the act was done.
