MAHAPURUSHA SRIMANTA SANKARADEVA VISWAVIDYALAYA ACT, 2013

ASSAM ACT NO. XIX OF 2013

    An Act to establish a private university under the name and style " The Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya" under section 6 of the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007 (Assam Act No. XII of 2007).

    Preamble:- Whereas it is expedient to establish a private university under the name and style " The Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya" under section 6 of the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007 and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto;

    It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-fourth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

1. Short title, extent and commencement:-(1) This Act may be called the Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya Act, 2013.

(2) It extends to the whole of Assam.

(3) It shall come into force at once.

2. Establishment of the Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya:- (1) For furthering the advancement of learning and prosecution of higher education and research there shall be established a private university under the name and style " The Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya" in the State of Assam.

(2) The details regarding name, location, jurisdiction and infrastructure of the said university are mentioned in the Schedule appended to this Act.
