THE MEGHALAYA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY (LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION) (SALARY AND ALLOWANCES) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1988
MEGHALAYA ACT NO. 11 OF 1988
An Act Further to amend the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly (Leader of the Opposition) (Salary and Allowances) Act, 1972.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Meghalaya in the Thirty-ninth Years of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Meghalaya legislative Assembly (Leader of the Opposition) (Salary and Allowance) (Amendment) Act, 1988.
(2) It shall come into force on and from the 1st day of August, 1988.
2. Amendment of Section 3 of Act 6 of 1983 :- For Section 5 of the principal Act, including the marginal note thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely-
“5. Where the Leader of Opposition does not occupy residence provided by Government as referred to in Section 4, the private residence he occupies may stand requisitioned and rent, as may by rules be prescribed, paid for by Government”.
