G.S.R.751(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution and in supersession of the Office of the Registrar General, India and the Offices of the Director of Census Operations in the States and Union Territories (Deputy Director of Census) Operations Group ‘A’ Post) Recruitment Rules, 2010, the Office of the Registrar General, India Deputy Registrar General (Census and Tabulation) Group ‘A’ Post Recruitment Rules, 2011, the Office of the Registrar General, India, and the offices of the Directorate of Census Operations in the States and the Union Territories, Joint Director of Census Operations Group ‘A’ Post Recruitment Rules, 2012, the Office of the Registrar General, India and the Offices of the Directors of Census Operations in the States and Union Territories, Assistant Director of Census Operations (Technical) Recruitment Rules, 2012, the office of the Registrar General, India and the offices of the Director of Census Operations in the States and Union Territories (Statistical Investigator Grade II), Recruitment Rules, 2013, and the Office of the Registrar General, India and the Offices of the Directorates of Census Operations in the States and Union Territories, Statistical Investigator Grade I, Recruitment Rules, 2014, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the President hereby makes the following rules regulating the method of recruitment to the posts of Deputy Registrar General (Census and Tabulation), Joint Directors of Census Operations, Deputy Director of Census Operations, Assistant Director of Census Operations (Technical), Statistical Investigator Grade I and Statistical Investigator Grade II in the Office of the Registrar General, India and in the Offices of the Directorate of Census Operations in States and Union territories, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, namely:-

1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called the Ministry of Home Affairs, Office of the Registrar General, India (Statistical Cadre posts) Recruitment Rules, 2019.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Number of posts, classification, level in the pay matrix.—The number of posts, their classification, pay level in the pay matrix attached thereto shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the said Schedule annexed to these rules.

3. Method of recruitment, age limit, educational qualifications, etc.—The method of recruitment, age limit, educational qualifications and other matters relating thereto shall be as specified in columns (5) to (13) of the aforesaid Schedule.
