Anti-Terrorism Day pledge on May 20 this year

Anti-Terrorism Day is observed on 21 May. This year, Anti-Terrorism Pledge will be administered in government offices on May 20 due to holiday of Buddha Poornima and third Saturday on May 21.

Pledge

“We, the people of India have firm belief in our country’s traditions of non-violence and tolerance and solemnly pledge to vehemently oppose all kinds of terrorism and violence. We take pledge to establish peace, social harmony and mutual understanding between all sections of society and fight the divisive forces which aim at harming human values.”

General Administration Department has directed all collectors, commissioners and heads of departments to organise anti-terrorism pledge and other programmes on Anti-Terrorism Day at 11 am on May 20 in all government offices. They have also been directed to give its intimation to all subordinate offices. Anti-Terrorism/Violence Pledge will be administrated in all government offices, government public sector undertakings and other public undertakings.

Objective of holding Anti-Terrorism Day is to convey that terrorism contravenes national interests. It is an effort to wean away youths from terrorist and violent activities. For creating atmosphere for this, debate competitions, lectures, discussions and symposiums should be held in educational institutions. It also aims at creative use of electronic/print media to highlight anti-terrorism messages of eminent personalities of various fields including sports and films for mass education and distribute T-shirts carrying attractive anti-terrorism slogans. Its objectives also include preparing participants to take part in lectures, discussions, music, poetry and cultural programmes on Anti-Terrorism Day.

आतंकवाद विरोधी दिवस शपथ इस बार 20 मई को

21 मई को आतंकवाद विरोधी दिवस मनाया जाता है। इस बार 21 मई को बुद्ध पूर्णिमा और तृतीय शनिवार का अवकाश होने के कारण शुक्रवार 20 मई को राज्य सरकार के कार्यालयों में शपथ ग्रहण होगा।

शपथ

'हम भारतवासी अपने देश की अहिंसा एवं सहनशीलता की परम्परा में दृढ़-विश्वास रखते है तथा निष्ठापूर्वक शपथ लेते हैं कि हम सभी प्रकार के आतंकवाद और हिंसा का डटकर विरोध करेंगे। हम मानव जाति के सभी वर्गों के बीच शांति, सामाजिक सदभाव तथा सूझ-बूझ कायम करने और मानव जीवन मूल्यों को खतरा पहुँचाने वाली और विघटनकारी शक्तियों से लड़ने की भी शपथ लेते हैं।'

सामान्य प्रशासन विभाग ने सभी विभागाध्यक्ष, संभागीय आयुक्त और कलेक्टर को जिले/ संभाग में दोपहर पूर्व 11 बजे सभी शासकीय कार्यालयों में शपथ ग्रहण करवाने के निर्देश दिये हैं। साथ ही कार्यालय प्रमुख को अपने अधीनस्थ को सूचित करने को कहा है। सभी सरकारी कार्यालय, सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उपक्रम और अन्य सार्वजनिक संस्थाओं में भी आतंकवाद/ हिंसा विरोधी शपथ दिलवायी जायेगी।

आतंकवाद विरोध दिवस मनाने का उद्देश्य है कि आतंकवाद राष्ट्रीय हितों के प्रतिकूल है तथा युवकों को आतंकवादी/ हिंसावादी गतिविधियों से पृथक करना है। उददेश्य को पूरा करने के लिये विद्यालय, महाविद्यालय और विश्वविद्यालय में वाद-विवाद/चर्चाएँ तथा आतंकवाद और हिंसा के खतरे के संबंध में परिचर्चा/ सेमीनार/ व्याख्यान आदि कार्यक्रम होंगे। हिंसा और आतंकवाद के कुप्रभाव को प्रकाश में लाने के लिये जन शिक्षा कार्यक्रम के वास्ते, खेलों, फिल्मों की प्रमुख हस्तियों और अन्य प्रसिद्ध हस्तियों को शामिल करके इलेक्ट्रानिक/प्रिंट मीडिया का कल्पनात्मक प्रयोग करना और ऐसी टी-शर्टों का वितरण करना जिनमें हिंसा/आतंकवाद के विरोध में आकर्षक नारे लिखें हो। स्वयंसेवी संगठनों, सामाजिक और सांस्कृति निकायों को व्याख्यान, चर्चा, परिचर्चा, संगीत और कविता पाठ कार्यकमों एवं सांस्कृतिक समारोह के रूप में अपने स्वयं के कार्यक्रमों के लिए तैयार एवं शामिल करना शामिल है।
