83. ऊपरवाल को प्रतिग्रहण के लिए अड़तालीस घण्टे से अधिक समय अनुज्ञात करने से उन्मोचन -- यदि विनिमय-पत्र का धारक ऊपरवाल को यह विचार करने के लिए कि वह उसे प्रतिगृहीत करेगा या नहीं, लोक अवकाश दिनों को छोड़कर अड़तालीस घण्टे से अधिक अनुज्ञात कर देता है तो ऐसी अनुज्ञा से सम्मत न होने वाले सब पूर्विक पक्षकार ऐसे धारक के प्रति दायित्व से तद्द्वारा उन्मोचित हो जाते हैं ।

83. Discharge by allowing drawee more than forty-eight hours to accept - If the holder of a bill of exchange allows the drawee more than '[forty-eight] hours, exclusive of public holidays, to consider whether he will accept the same, all previous parties not consenting to such allowance are thereby discharged from liability to such holder.
