139. धारक के पक्ष में उपधारणा - जब तक कि अन्यथा साबित न कर दिया जाये, यह उपधारणा की जायेगी कि चैक के धारक ने वह चैक धारा 138 में निर्दिष्ट किसी ऋण अथवा अन्य दायित्व के भागतः या पूर्णतः उन्मोचन के लिए प्राप्त किया है ।

139. Presumption in favour of holder — It shall be presumed, unless the contrary is proved, that the holder of a cheque received the cheque, of the nature referred to in section 138, for the discharge, in whole or in part, of any debt or other liability.
